Ansel Adams
February 20, 1902 - April 22, 1984
An American photographer and environmentalist. He was well known for his black and white landscapes of the American West, especially Yosemite National Park. He also developed a way to determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast on a final print (with Fred Archer). He was one of the founders of Group f/64.
